As the festive season lights up Bath’s historic streets, the Bath Business Improvement District (BID) and Bath and North East Somerset Council are proud to unveil the brand-new Bath Shopping Guide—a beautifully designed companion to help visitors and locals alike explore the city’s vibrant retail and food scenes.
Created to encourage footfall dispersal across the city centre, the guide highlights a diverse range of shopping destinations and foodie hotspots, from unique independents to beloved high street favourites.
“With significant pedestrian areas, Bath is a very walkable city. This map is a key way to encourage people to explore Bath’s incredible independents as well as high street retailers,” said Allison Herbert, CEO of Bath BID.
The guide’s design is the work of Bath BID’s resident artist, Miriam Zaccarelli, whose hand-drawn illustrations bring the city to life with charm and elegance.
“Supporting our high streets and local businesses is central to our vision for Bath’s city centre. We’re committed to creating vibrant, resilient places where people want to spend time, shop, and connect. Through initiatives like the Bath Shopping Guide, we’re helping to showcase the incredible diversity of retail and hospitality across the city, from cherished independents to well-known high street brands. These efforts are part of a wider strategy to boost footfall, encourage exploration, and ensure Bath remains a thriving destination for residents and visitors alike,” said Councillor Paul Roper.
The Bath Shopping Guide will be available from 21st November in shops across Bath City Centre and at the Bath BID office. Whether you’re gift-hunting, window-shopping, or simply soaking up the festive atmosphere, this guide is your perfect companion.
