15th Jan – Blue Monday
Coined by psychologists in 2004, Blue Monday has become known as the ‘most depressing’ day of the year. In theory it is due to many different factors such as distance from Christmas, weather and lack of completion of New Year’s Resolutions. It represents a chance to challenge the stigma attached to depression and raise awareness.

The Bath Bachfest is a 3-day 5-concert, mini music festival celebrating the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries. Held each February in Bath’s stunning period venues, it attracts fine musicians and audiences from across the UK and well beyond.

Events that will challenge perceptions, illuminate, educate and entertain the most curious minds – from historical lives to behind-the-scenes looks at the monarchy and politics, from Shakespeare to the space race.

As the sun comes up on race day, there is always a real sense of excitement and anticipation in the city. Runners and spectators pour into the city centre to see or take part in the race.

Have a Laugh in Bath as Bath Comedy Festival returns! With hundreds of comedians performing at over a dozen venues across Bath, the Bath Comedy Festival will have you roaring with laughter over three weeks this Spring.

World Heritage Day celebrates protection and promotion of our shared cultural and natural heritage. The day aims to create conversation on conservation and sustainable management of our collective history.

22nd Apr – Earth Day
Earth Day aims to educate, inspire and mobilize individuals, communities, and governments to appreciate the environment’s importance and to invest in its protection and restoration. This year’s theme aims to promote investment in sustainable projects and strategies that contribute to a healthier and greener planet.

Bath Spring Fayre will transform Milsom Street, New Bond Street, and Greens Street into a vibrant celebration of spring.

10th – 16th May – Local Business Week
Celebrating the rich identity local businesses have over corporate boards or stockholding business chain owners, Local Business Week was designed to support as many local businesses as possible.

14th – 16th May – Bath Digital Festival

Celebrating our city with a focus on three internationally impactful themes with foundations in Bath. The Bath Digital Festival has chosen Sport and Life Sciences, Space and Cities as their themes this year. They will be curating events to inspire you and design to generate new conversations.

17th May – Party in the City

On the night of Party in the City, the festival team programmes and produces a variety of events on 2 outdoor stages as well as in Bath’s historic venues, churches and museums.

A festival dedicated to the arts and literature.

18th May – Bath Rugby V Northampton Saints at the Rec

A festival of all the arts, with few rules as to what should be in or out – it’s what people want to do, and what venues in Bath want to put on. It all happens for 2 long weeks & 3 weekends in early summer.

Reading is Magic Festival is returning for a fourth year. There were so many writers, illustrators and poets who are taking part in our five-day festival which will be beamed straight into schools and homes across the globe.

8th Oct – South West in Bloom Awards

South West in Bloom is one of eighteen regional/national competitions that make up Britain in Bloom, the biggest horticultural campaign in Europe. The aim of the communities that take part each year is to improve and regenerate our local environments, through the imaginative planting of trees, shrubs, flowers and landscaping, conservation and recycling projects, and to sweep away the eyesores that blight our streets, such as litter, graffiti and vandalism.
