Nationwide Bath pledges to support local businesses with CPR training

CPR trained Nationwide Building Society employees are to run training sessions in CPR to local businesses.

Kirsty and Daisy, who work at the Nationwide Bath branch on Union Street were first trained as CPR facilitators back in 2016, as part of a Nationwide Building Society UK-wide programme for employees. These valuable skills have enabled the Customer Representative’s to pass on their knowledge and expertise to others in the Bath area, having previously held training sessions for members.

As part of a partnership with Bath Business Improvement District (BID), the Nationwide branch is to hold a series of training events to local businesses, with the aim to train one employee from every business to be able to confidently deliver CPR.

In addition to the training, the Bath branch has received a grant from Nationwide to install a Defibrillator, which should be installed this spring.

Kirsty Marsh, Customer Representative at the Nationwide Bath branch said: ‘We’re really pleased to have received a grant which has enabled us to buy a defibrillator, the first one on the area. Before the UK-wide CPR programme back in 2016 I’d never thought about training in CPR, but now I’m trained in help others pick up the skills which feels so rewarding. It’s also great to have the space in branch to use for sessions.”

Stephanie Pritchard, Branch Manager at the Nationwide Bath branch said: ‘We’ve recently moved into new premises here on Union Street with a great new community area where we can hold training and local sessions. We’re passionate about helping the community, and with Kirsty and Daisy as CPR facilitators I’m pleased we are able to pass these lifesaving skills on.”

The first training session is on Thursday 31st January at 5.30pm and these will continue on the last Thursday of the month for the foreseeable future. To pre-register, contact Rob by email at Robert.Burrows@nationwide.co.uk
