Gloves will be woven throughout our current A History of Fashion in 100 Objects exhibition. Visitors will see exquisite examples of historical gloves from the past 400 years, many of which have never been displayed to the public before. Highlights include beautiful embroidered gauntlet gloves from the 1600s and a curious pair of gloves in a walnut shell from the 1830s. The exhibition also touches on outer space with a Soviet cosmonaut’s glove and a costume glove from the Star Wars film The Empire Strikes Back. Normal entry applies, free to Discovery Card holders.
Runs from 2nd March 2019 to 1st March 2020.
