The Bath Business Improvement District (Bath BID) is delighted to announce that it has been successful in securing the votes required for a new five-year term from 1st April 2021 to 31st March 2026, having received the overwhelming backing of businesses in Bath.

89% of eligible businesses voted in favour by number, with 88% voting in favour by rateable value, representing a 40% turnout.

Bath BID is keen to thank all its member businesses for their support during what has been a year of unprecedented challenges for the leisure, retail and office sectors. It has also reaffirmed its commitment to local businesses, creating opportunities to promote the city and supporting the city through its recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

As soon as the new term comes into effect on 1st April 2021, the organisation will commence work on delivering the goals it set out in its new Business Plan. This will focus on four key strategic themes – a Welcoming City, a Smart City, a Connected City and a Successful City.

Allison Herbert, Chief Executive of the Bath BID, said: “We are delighted to have secured a third five-year term, allowing us to continue our work on behalf of Bath’s businesses. A lot has changed in the ten years that the Bath BID has been operating; it is a privilege to serve the city of Bath, and we are enthusiastic about delivering the next phase of our work. We are so pleased that despite the difficult circumstances, businesses have placed their trust in the BID to help secure a bright future for Bath.”
