Bath in Fashion

“Bath is a place I’ve chosen to live; it’s a city I adore!” – Manolo Blahnik

Bath In Fashion 2012 ran from Saturday 25^thMarch – Sunday 1st April and was a great success. Many events took place including; a talk by world renowned shoe designer Manolo Blahnik, a talk with milliner Stephen Jones, catwalks displaying both independent, high-street, and designer clothes, workshops, and exhibitions.

The workshops proved very popular with both students and non-students alike where participants had the chance to create their own garments after a demonstration by the award-winning British fashion designer Julian Roberts. Tickets for all the events were flying off the shelf, with the website showing many events as sold out!

The Dress of the Year 2011 was also unveiled at the Fashion Museum and is now on show. It was described as the 'dress that inspired Kate Middleton's wedding gown'.

The Bath BID coordinated this event helping to make it the most successful Bath In Fashion event to date. Bath BID organised the retail in store promotions that were taking place during Bath In Fashion. In the run up, the BID team could be seen handing out brochures which contained these promotions. This BID initiative aimed to increase footfall in Bath city centre.
