Bath NightWatch

Nightwatch is a new scheme building customer trust and confidence in having a safe night out in Bath.  The scheme brings together licensees, the Police, Taxi Marshalls and Door Staff, working in partnership to ensure consumers enjoy a safe night out in Bath.  This initiative has been instrumental in the Purple Flag accreditation given to Bath in 2010.

Licensed premises are being encouraged to join by the local authority licensing department, promoting responsibility within the licensed trade to issues that occur beyond their premises.

The benefits for pubs, nightclubs, restaurants and hotels include:

- High quality radio link operation connecting the licensed trade

- Co-ordinated network of premises sharing troublemaker information and exclusion of known prolific offender (also data exchange between scheme and the Police)

- Increased City Centre Street Marshal and Taxi Marshal Services

- Being part of an initiative which is helping to improve the reputation of Bath to customers.

- Promoting the benefits of a safe night out in Bath, increasing the number of visitors to the night evening economy of the city
