Purple Flag is an accreditation scheme that recognises excellence in the management of town and city centres between 5pm and 6am. Collaborative working is the key to the achievement of receiving the Purple Flag accreditation, which has ensured Bath’s success since 2010.
Bath was one of the first Cities in the UK to receive this accreditation, it can also claim the accolade for being one of the first cities in the UK to have a managed taxi rank.
Much of the continued success of this project would not have happened without the strong backing of BID levy payers who fund the scheme as well as the continued collaboration between the Bath BID and B&NES. Funding given to the Bath BID is used to supply the Taxi Marshals, Roaming Marshalls and the Marshall Medic all of whom work closely with CCTV, Police, Street Pastors and the NHS during Bath’s busiest evenings.
