Public Events Panel

This group meets every two months, chaired by Richard Hall. The purpose of this group is to give festival and events organisers one port of call when at the planning stages of an outdoor event.

With advice from cultural experts and those in tourism, this group allocates small grants to events which aim to animate the public realm and bring vibrancy to the city centre. Having a one stop shop for event organisers, eliminates the need to present the same concept to several people, and with not only financial but practical help, this group seeks to be hands on in its support.

Projects that have been supported include: The Earth from the Air exhibition, The Comedy Festival, The Bath Prize (Pictured above), The Christmas Lights Switch-on, a film premiere in Bath Abbey, Flavours of the West, Giant Chess Set and the Lions of Bath public art project. (Pictured below)
